The Importance of a Newsletter

The business with an active email list will always beat the business without one.

For example, let’s say you’re a car detailer.

You go clean someone’s car for the first time and they love how it comes out.

There is now two ways to increase the value of that customer using just their email.

Option 1:

You send them a newsletter once a month. This makes sure that the next time they think “I need to get my car detailed” they think of you.

Option 2:

You send them a newsletter once a month. When they see your newsletter, they think to themselves “I need to get my car detailed again” and they contact you.

You are able to contact all of the people that are definitely willing to pay for your service. You know for a fact they are willing to pay because, well, they already have before.

Let me put it in another frame that helped me to understand the value of the email list:

If you could run Facebook ads for free, and know for a fact you’re only contacting the people that definitely want your service, would you?

If your answer is yes, start writing once a month for free on beehiiv.

Using beehiiv you can contact up to 2500 subscribers without paying a dime.

From now on, add your customers emails to the list. Of course, they can unsubscribe anytime if they choose to.

Send little before and after pictures once a month. Write a story about a customer experience. You don’t have to be creative, you just have to be in the front of your customers mind.

One last thing before you go. One time service industries like fencing, roofing, HVAC, etc. are not exempt from this.

The power for these industries is word of mouth. If you are constantly sending out emails about how you’re treating your customers good, your email list will be much more likely to tell their friends about your company when your services come up in the conversation.

Plus, they’ll come to for fence repairs, roof repairs, HVAC repairs etc.
